Tehras, an up-and-coming artist hailing from Kampala, Uganda, has been making waves in the music industry. Despite growing up in a family of medical professionals, Tehras harbored a deep-seated passion for the arts, which he began exploring from a young age. Guided and inspired by his mother and elder brother, he honed his drawing skills and eventually gravitated towards music.
Following the untimely passing of his mother in 2003, Tehras relocated to Mbale with his brother to live with his father and extended family. The peacefulness of the countryside appealed to Tehras, who immersed himself in reggae music during his high school years. It was during this time that he penned his debut single, “How We Live.”
Although a music scout took notice of his initial offering, Tehras ultimately declined the offer as he anticipated resistance from his father to his musical pursuits. However, he continued to nurture his passion for music while acquiring knowledge in computer science and 2D animation.
Tehras has been endorsed by a wide range of musicians, both locally and internationally, including esteemed figures such as Capleton, Sizzla Kalonji, and Jahcure, among others. He has also created cover art for numerous songs, including “Bimma Lifestyle” by Eesah, “Kimuli” by Jamal, and “Teach the Youths” by I Stitch. Currently, Tehras is a signee of Mash Up Entertainment, a record label that he co-owns with some of his business partners.
The young artist is gearing up for the release of his first official single, “Muliwa,” produced by Emlece Cypher, who is known for his exceptional beat-making skills. With his undeniable passion for music and the arts, Tehras is poised to become a prominent figure in the Ugandan music scene. We extend our best wishes to him on his journey towards success.
