

The Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces and the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo have chaired a joint operations evaluation meeting in Beni, DRC, to review the progress of Operation Shujaa.
The operation was commissioned by the Presidents of Uganda and the DRC to bring peace and security to the Eastern part of the DRC by eliminating the Allied Democratic Forces terrorist group.
The two military forces have been in the operation since November 2021 and periodically review their progress to achieve the objectives of the operation. The meeting was attended by several military officials, including the Commander Land Forces, Chief of Military Intelligence, and Military Assistant to the CDF, among others.
The two forces later signed a joint evaluation report on the progress of Operation Shujaa.
